Don't forget to smile

A smile can kill a thousand frowns
And the mist on a foggy day.
But what it can kill most of all
is sadness where it lay.

Today I'm caught shining the 'O' in POSITIVE.

There are two sides to everything

the good & the bad
the light & the dark
the positive & the negative

In this world, one depends on the other

You must educate yourself about the dark to make your light SHINE brighter

On Michael Jackson...

God was definitely using him. I believe long before Michael was born, his soul chose this way to come to us. God sends "angels" to us all the time in different forms. He has to because the problem is we all don't see or hear the same thing. I've always felt that if Michael did not come to us this way, he would of been a great charismatic preacher of some sort. But look at the limiting factor in that. Not everybody believes in certain religions and etc. But music... now THAT is the great communicator. How brilliant is it for God to send his light to us through modern music? Through a humble human being with a simple name, "Michael Jackson". It amazes me every time I think about it.

Inspiration

She looked through the screen door and admired
the pattern the sunlight made through the trees
on the sprawling pavement
sometimes she saw faces, patterns... WORDS

Outside, she stood beneath the tree,
letting the sunlight tickle her face.
That is how it began.
She found her inspiration in the sunlight.

Crescent's Jealousy

She is voluptuous, full
and circular like our original shape

She is effervescent and coy
She beckons me to the pool
to look at her reflection
In it I see esteem beauty

playful woes of another day

She loves to instigate
endless peek-a-boo

at first blush when her starlit
curtain is drawn

Saturday is the day that we always got up
We’d have a croissant, a little coffee in our cup
We’d talk about our plans and make a few
We’d sit at the table, we’d do what lover’s do

Sometimes we’d have orange juice instead of coffee
Sometimes it was cinnamon rolls with hot butter toffee
But no matter the food it is now met with rue
Saturday is just not as delectable without you

I Got the Party Planning Blues

I planned a child's party
To which I was tardy
Oh brother! My job is in jeopardy.

My balloon delight
Caused such a fright
When it popped in the middle of an ice cream fight.

The party was ruined
The birthday girl was boo-hooin'
And her mother shouted, "Oh yes, I'll be suin' "

The life of a party planner
Could never be grander!
After this one I quit. I'm now a panhandler.

That dreaded washing machine

My character hates reality television.

Oh yes, she loves being real but she revels and gets caught up in the masked identity of fantasy. Bold colors, engaging action and bellowing music scores make her tingle with enthusiasm and takes her to distant exotic places where she can no longer hear car horns, bill collectors and the washing machine.

Sigh!

Back to reality.

The Spring Show

ah! your sweet tender leaves remind me of spring!
I am green with envy of how you reach out beneath
the crystals
that cover your safe beginnings. I shiver as I observe and marvel
at your lesson. Even though the seasons try to cover your sanctity
and callous
your exterior, that inner spirit precipitates life that can’t help itself.
